Ternetia Glo (Gymnocorymbus Ternetzi): First Meet! + Video!

Ternetia Glo (Gymnocorymbus ternetzi).

Following the colored glowing Danio Rerio (about which I have already written several posts), in 2012 scientists received an order from the company Glofish.com on the creation of genetically modified Tetra. And I must say it turned out quite well.

And although I am not a fan of bright and not natural colors in an aquarium, but an adherent of biotopes and creating conditions as close as possible to natural ones, commercial interest and curiosity took their toll and at the beginning of January I purchased 7 Thornes Glos, with the aim of further breeding them.

Globe is represented in this snapshot.

Unfortunately, the first acquaintance with Glo's Thorns was not very joyful, together with them I brought semolina into the aquarium. But in the end everything ended successfully, everyone remained alive and invaluable experience of treatment was gained.

Tetra Glo in the aquarium! Personal experience!

I will not describe the conditions of detention, water parameters and other details. They practically do not differ from the conditions of detention of their non-colored relatives, about which you can find a lot of information on the Internet.

On my own I will add that if you have at least some idea of the balance in the aquarium, temperature, chemical composition, then you will not have any problems keeping Ternetium Glo. Fishes unpretentious, omnivorous and easily adaptable to many conditions in the aquarium. In addition, the fish are quite peaceful and easily get along with the same non-aggressive neighbors. As you can see in my video, they live quietly with Endler's guppies, shrimps, crayfish and snails. The only thing is that they can sometimes chase each other, so there should be places in the aquarium densely planted with plants.

Tetra Glo can be seen in this video.

As I said, in terms of feeding, the fish are just as unpretentious. Eat almost all types of feed. The only thing that noticed is that they are reluctant to pick up food from the bottom, and most often ignore it. This is due to the structure of their mouth, which is not very suitable for this.

Tetra Glo. Next step.

The next step is simple and logical. Try to breed them. According to information from the Internet, it is not difficult at all. So, I hope to please you with a new post soon!
