Fry viviparous fish in the aquarium!

Unlike spawning fish, feeding live-born fry is much easier. And the point here is the body size with which fry of viviparous fish are born. They are much larger than the larvae of other fish, and can immediately take a larger dry food. And if fry of spawning fish I start to feed exclusively with special food Sera Micron (about which I already did a separate post), then live-bearing fry can be fed as Sera Micron, and other special feeds, for example Sera Vipan Baby or JBL NovoBaby.

Both producers position their feeds as ideal dry food for fry. But if Sera Vipan Baby, it's a single mixture, then JBL NovoBaby a whole system of feeds of different grinding.

Let's review and compare these two feeds in more detail.

JBL NovoBaby.

JBL NovoBaby.

JBL NovoBaby is a special food for fry of viviparous fish, starting from birth and until they reach a size of 3 cm.

For ease of feeding and 100% assimilation, the feed is packed in 3 different containers, depending on the size of the grinding:

  1. Super fine, almost dust, for the first days of life.
  2. Small, for fry from 15mm to 30 mm.
  3. Larger, for fry from 30 mm.
Composition:
  • Animal protein
  • Fibre
  • Fat
  • Ash

Do not be scared if you see the word "Ash" in the composition of feed for any animals. It is not ash from burnt trees. Simply, in this way it is customary to designate the content of inorganic substances or minerals in the feed, such as potassium, calcium, phosphorus, iron, sodium, magnesium, zinc and other elements. All of them are necessary and very useful for the correct and rapid growth of your pets.

Sera Vipan baby and JBL NovoBel. How to feed?

There are two ways how to feed the fry in an aquarium.

If the fry are still very small and keep in the water column, it is better to dilute the feed with water, for example in a measuring spoon. Optionally, add vitamins, and through a medical syringe enter directly into the group with the fry.

Or just pour the food on the surface of the water. The flakes do not sink for a long time and all the fry have time to eat.

The most important thing is to accurately calculate the dosage, so that the fry have time to eat everything. Otherwise, the water will begin to deteriorate, and for the fry it is doubly more dangerous than for adult fish.

Feed 2-3 once a day.

Than to feed the fry. The conclusion.

As we can see from the above, both are very high quality feeds.

We are used to thinking that dry food is worse than live or frozen food. But, for example, in the frozen food, vitamins do not exist at all, and feeding with one type of living is also very bad.

And if you also delve into the history of creating a good dry food, you can see how much love and effort have been put to it and how many interesting ingredients are contained in a jar of food that you have under the aquarium.
